Junior Year Timeline

EQ - How can I begin networking for my post-secondary path?
  1. Meet in the Guidance Office.
  2. Counselors lecture (with note taking guide)
  3. As students enter the classroom, they will take out their assigned laptops and login to the class website.
  4. AP - Counselor Feedback
    1. What is the most meaningful thing you learned from your counselors this morning?  Explain why this matters to you.
    2. List one question for your counselor to answer when you have your next scheduled appointment.
  5. Activator (TPS) - Word Association - What comes to mind when you hear the word "Network"
    1. Define Networking
    2. Discussion Question - How can networking help you when you plan for your future?
    3. Discussion Question - How can you use networking to complete your Graduation Project's Experiential Learning Component.
  6. Getting Help - TPS LINK - What's a Mentor and How Do I Get One 
    1. Students will create a LINK Foldable
      1. List (prior to reading) what you know about mentors.
      2. Inquire (prior to reading) about mentors.
      3. Note (while reading) the most important ideas presented in the reading
      4. Know (after reading) Compose a clear and concise message to help another high school student understand how having a mentor can benefit him/her.
    2. Students will share the summary with their table partners.
    3. As a class we will review how having a mentor can benefit a high school student.
  7. AP - Connecting Concepts (TOD)
    1. How can you develop a network of mentors during your experiential project?
    2. How can having a mentor help you further develop your resume?
    3. Who are some people that you should consider networking with to assist you with your post-secondary path?
